Meet the Team
Sena Griffith DC, CCSP
Dr. Sena Griffith is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic West. She graduated with Cum Laude honors and did her preceptorship training at Positive Motion in Los Gatos, under Sports Chiropractor Dr. Brant Pedersen. During her time at Palmer West she served as an executive member of the Sports Council chapter where she gained experience working on athletes at events like Tri-Santa Cruz and the San Jose Turkey Trot. She also attended the Professional Football Chiropractic Society's seminar taking courses to help expand her knowledge alongside the NFL team chiropractors. Dr. Sena also attended the University of California, Merced where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Developmental Biology and a minor in Psychology.
Dr. Sena grew up in Sonoma County spending her time cheerleading and swimming. When Sena was 14, she fell from a pyramid in a cheerleading accident and suffered a severe whiplash injury that led her to believe she'd never be able to participate in sports again. Initially after the fall, Sena saw her primary care physician who prescribed her 2 months of opioids and sent her on her way. Sena was left with limited range of motion in her cervical spine and the fear that she'd continue to live her future years in pain. After those two months had passed, Sena decided to see a chiropractor. Through chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue work, and rehabilitative exercise, Sena was able to get back to the active lifestyle she once lived and went on to cheerlead for her college. Sena also has been an avid CrossFitter for the last 7 years and enjoys half marathon training.
Dr. Sena saw the benefits of working with a sports chiropractor, which lead her to completing a post-doctoral program and become board certified Certified Chiropractic Practitioner (CCSP) in 2022. The CCSP gives chiropractors specialized knowledge of sports injuries, in turn helping athletes to optimize their athletic performance. Overall, a CCSP has a well developed and advanced understanding of neurological and musculoskeletal function and possess a greater understanding of how it affects performance when an tissue has been overly stressed or injured.
Throughout her time in chiropractic college, she gained experience treating sports injuries on athletes, children, seniors, and the occasional weekend warrior. She primarily uses diversified technique, but is trained in Activator and Thompson Drop. She has taken additional coursework to become certified in Active Release Technique (ART), Fascial Distortion Model (FDM), SFMA, and Stecco Fascial Manipulation. Her treatments consist of a combination of adjustments and the above soft tissue techniques as well as Graston Technique and functional cupping, and therapeutic rehabilitation. Sena has seen first hand how people can fall into an inactive lifestyle after a serious injury and wants to empower her patients to feel confident that their bodies can once again get back to doing what they love.
